Like cream bronzers, liquid bronzers are among my favorites, particularly because they blend into the skin so perfectly. The liquid texture feels lightweight on the skin and wears exceptionally well.
A liquid bronzer blends naturally into the skin even without any other base makeup. It gives the skin a beautiful sun-kissed glow and adds radiance. It can be used to contour the face after applying foundation or simply to add a touch of sunshine to your makeup look. Liquid and cream bronzers have a lot in common, including many similarities in how they are used. However, liquid bronzer can easily be mixed with other products, such as foundation or moisturizer, which is not possible with cream or powder bronzers and traditional bronzing powders.
Apply liquid bronzer with a full, dense brush or a sponge to ensure effortless application with minimal blending required. Try, for example, the FLAER 211 Sculpted Bronzer Brush.
LUMENE INVISIBLE ILLUMINATION LIQUID BRONZER *
Lumene’s liquid bronzer has been one of my absolute favorites for years, but now the familiar shade Summer Glow has been joined by Deep Glow, which provides a deeper and richer bronzed effect. It’s wonderful that this excellent product is now available in two options. The bronzer has a thin, fluid texture that spreads effortlessly across the skin. The pigment behaves almost like watercolor, creating a beautifully sheer finish that gives the skin a naturally sun-kissed appearance. Summer Glow is the lighter, more golden shade, while Deep Glow is a deeper brown. Deep Glow was primarily designed for medium-deep to deeper skin tones, but you can also use it if you simply want a more intense bronzed effect. The Liquid Bronzer applies evenly and wears beautifully throughout the day. It contains no shimmer particles but reflects light beautifully on the skin. The fluid texture is easiest to apply with a brush.
LAURA MERCIER TINTED MOISTURIZER BRONZER
Laura Mercier is always a brand I pay attention to when it comes to complexion products, as their concealers, for example, have been staples in my professional makeup kit for years. Tinted Moisturizer Bronzer is exactly what it promises to be: a lightweight tinted bronzer that settles naturally on the skin. It contains plenty of pigment and dries down to a completely matte finish. You should work fairly quickly during application and blending, but the product settles beautifully onto the skin. The shades are labeled differently on the Kicks website compared to the numbers printed on the tubes. The shade featured in this article is Medium Bronze, sold at Kicks under the code 04 Sunlight, which is also printed on the tube. You can double-check the shades on Laura Mercier’s website, but Medium Bronze 03 and 04 are particularly versatile and suit many skin tones.
GOSH SHAPE UP CREAM CONTOUR *
The word “contour” appears in the product name, but these sticks also work beautifully for adding warmth and a sun-kissed effect to the face. The formula contains no shimmer particles, so it naturally excels at contouring and sculpting as well. The texture is lightweight and easy to apply, leaving behind a beautifully radiant finish on the skin. Personally, the product’s dispensing method with a small sponge applicator is not my favorite due to hygiene concerns—especially if you apply it directly onto already-made-up skin—but the product has clearly been designed in a style very similar to Charlotte Tilbury’s iconic contour wand, and it succeeds remarkably well. In my opinion, GOSH stands up very well next to the cult classic. There are two shades available: 001 Fair-Medium and 002 Medium-Deep. Shade 001 is a warm golden brown, while 002 is a deep brown intended for medium-deep to deeper skin tones.
LUMENE NATURAL GLOW SKIN TONE PERFECTOR *
While GOSH’s sticks are clearly makeup products designed to be applied over foundation to add warmth and dimension, Lumene’s Natural Glow Skin Tone Perfector works beautifully even on bare skin. The formula is incredibly thin and lightweight. The color is beautifully sheer and creates a natural-looking bronzed effect that never appears makeup-like. The product can also be mixed into a lightweight foundation or moisturizer to add a subtle sun-kissed glow. Shade 2 Perfect Tan is a beautiful brown that flatters a wide range of skin tones. The finish is radiant, yet the product dries down to feel completely weightless and undetectable on the skin. The gel-like texture applies effortlessly with a brush, sponge, or fingers.
